A little further, together
Four Conqueror alternatives for your next walking challenge.
Keep the virtual journey. Choose the kind of company, challenge and reward that makes you want to keep going.

What do you want to change about your next challenge?
The Conqueror offers themed routes and physical finish medals. If collecting those medals is what motivates you, staying with it may be the right choice. Alternatives make more sense when your priority is a shared everyday habit, a different trail library or a step challenge with friends.
These four options offer different ways to make walking feel like progress. They are not identical replacements for The Conqueror, and none should be chosen on the assumption that your existing challenge progress will transfer.

Tandem Trails: two iphone walkers sharing one trail
Your walking distances add up on one shared trail. You can race on chosen days, compare steps against your own usual day, and leave painted stones for your partner to discover.
Before you choose: Both walkers need an iPhone. Rewards are digital keepsakes; we do not send physical medals.
Pacer: step leaderboards across different phones
Pacer offers step challenges with invite links and a shared leaderboard. It supports iPhone and Android, making it an option when you use different phones.
Before you choose: Check which challenge features and wearable connections are included before inviting your partner.
World Walking: virtual routes with a group
World Walking offers virtual routes, milestones and group chat. Basic users can join an existing group; creating your own group requires a Plus account.
Before you choose: Use the current worldwalking.com service. The old worldwalking.org service closed in May 2026.
Walk the Distance: following long-distance hiking trails
Walk the Distance puts everyday distance on iconic hiking trails, including the Appalachian Trail. Its official site lists Apple Health, Samsung Health, Fitbit and Garmin connections.
Before you choose: Check current purchases and compatibility. Seeing other walkers on a route does not necessarily mean combining your distances into one total.
Digital keepsakes or something in the post?
A digital reward is something you collect inside an app. A physical medal is something you can hold and display. Decide which matters to you before comparing prices. Tandem Trails offers painted stones, postcards, badges and passport stamps inside the app, with no physical medal delivery.
Moving to a new walking app
Check the new app's permissions, supported devices and purchases before starting. Treat your new trail as a fresh journey unless the provider explicitly supports importing old progress. Keep any previous completion records you want to save.
With Tandem Trails, both walkers download the app on iPhone, connect Apple Health and join the same trail through an invite link. You do not need to walk in the same location.
Explore Tandem Trails for two walkers, preview Hadrian's Wall, or compare apps for couples.
